I'm only 30 and I feel so old. How sad is that? I have the ability to look back at rather big points in my life (Marriage, kids being born, going to University, etc) and have to remember that they were literally YEARS ago. University was a decade ago alone!
Now most of the time... It doesn't bother me too much because I have a hard time thinking about more then one thing at a time. I'm a guy. That's normal. So I'm usually thinking about whatever it is I'm doing at the time. But this past weekend was different. One of my best friends came up for the weekend for a little golfing and fun while Deb and the kids were gone. Mike and I go back to first year university and hit it off right away. Anyways... after our golf game, we started playing Diablo 2 online since he brought his laptop up with him. Well we ended up playing it for just over 20 hours in a 36 hour time span. Now you may find that sad but for me, it was just like the good'ol days back in university (except this time we didn't have to worry about any projects from professors!). We nearly beat the game but Mike does have a fairly substantial drive so had to leave early on the sunday. But I digress... the point is that the very thing I was doing was drop kicking my memories to a different lifetime and will undoubtedly leave me feeling a bit meloncholy for the next little while.
Don't get me wrong! I have NO COMPLAINTS about where I am in my life and who I am with!! (OK... 1 complaint... Mike and Les live too damn far away!). But for the next little while, everything I do and look at will be tinged with experiences past.

I know the feeling. I look back far too often, and though I love where I am at, I miss bits and pieces of my past. Kinda like when I said I was missing you.. I was missing the times when we were young together, camping, riding bikes,...just being brother and sister.
I'm happy for you that Mike got to visit! Sounds like you had a great time.
Dude, I'm 30. I feel no different then when I was 20. Or 10. Its just a number man.
